Frequently Asked Questions

Participants

What ministries does Thrive work with at Salem?

Thrive is a part of Salem ministries when a need is present. All Children and Family Ministry volunteers have additional training for children with unique needs.  If you have questions or want to discuss your child's needs, contact Executive Pastor Alice Johnson

Are there specific Thrive classrooms?

Thrive has a sensory space for children to take a break and engage in calming activities.

What's the process of getting accommodations for my child?

Talk to the leader of the ministry you’re participating in—there are many things they are equipped to implement. If more assistance is needed, the leader and parents can discuss other arrangements with the Executive Pastor.

Volunteers

What are some of the volunteer roles through Thrive Ministry?

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Supporting children in programming such as Sunday School or Awana
  • Volunteering for special events like Thrive Worship

What do I need to do to become a volunteer with Thrive?

All volunteers need to have is a heart for people with unique needs and a passion for serving. People over 18 must be background-checked.

What support is available to me as a volunteer?

Church ministry happens in teams and Thrive is no different. You never volunteer alone. Support and training are ongoing.
