New Sunday Morning Schedule Beginning January 2019
Following several months of review, soliciting feedback, and planning, Salem will begin a new Sunday morning schedule starting January 6, 2019. The new schedule will enable us to position our worship services for continued growth, provide people the opportunity to attend a worship service in keeping with their preferred style, and encourage all, young and older, to participate in Christian Education Classes.
The new schedule beginning on Sunday, January 6, will be:
9:00-10:00 Traditional Worship Service
10:10-10:50 Christian Formation classes
11:00-noon Contemporary Worship Service
We continue to see new people joining in both styles of services and believe this step will encourage that to happen even more. Further, this schedule allows for continued growth in our Christian Education Classes and for those attending them to participate in the style of worship they prefer. Although the time available for classes will be less, shorter classes are what most children experience in school and what many experts say is more effective. As with so much of life, this change is an experiment, one we know we will learn from and one we hope will help us better fulfill our mission of encouraging people of all ages to Connect, Grow, and Go as disciples of Jesus Christ.
