World Vision Experience
September 24-27
World Vision Experience is coming to Salem. This mobile truck experience will inspire us all to embrace Jesus’ call to be light in a dark world, to live out selfless love for the well-being of everyone, everywhere—especially for the most vulnerable. The Experience is a 20-minute free journey, and will show us where Jesus is loving people in the most oppressed and neglected places in the world.
- Witness despair and hope in a brothel in Bangladesh.
- See how God is working in the midst of the Syria refugee crisis.
- Join Christ in the midst of extreme poverty in Uganda.
How can you be involved?
Go Through the Experience
Go online (http://bit.ly/SalemCCExperience) or stop by the table in the Narthex on Sundays to reserve your “front-of-the-line” pass. Reservations are suggested, but not required. Parental discretion for children under age 16is advised.
Volunteer
There are several places to serve, including greeting, distributing and collecting audio devices, and helping visitors who want to sponsor a child. Shifts are 3-4 hours long, you’ll receive a World Vision t-shirt, and have an opportunity to help children from around the world receive HOPE. Join the volunteer team! To learn more and to sign up to help, go online (https://www.volunteersignup.org/DCT38) or visit the table in the Narthex next Sunday.
Event for Children
Thursday, September 24, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Salem Covenant Church’s Children and Family Ministry Team is offering an age-appropriate World Vision Experience for children (infant through grade 4). While parents complete their experience at the truck, children will have their own 20-minute experience in the church narthex with our team. Families will go home with a discussion guide to continue learning how to follow Jesus into the margins.
