From our inception the Covenant has been concerned with helping hurting people (love mercy), and addressing the causes of that hurt (do justice). The mission of Love Mercy Do Justice (LMDJ) is to “Join God in making things right in our broken world.” Our goal is to resource and equip the local church in its call to love, serve, and work together with people at the margins toward holistic individual, family and community transformation.
Love Mercy Do Justice works in coordination with Covenant World Relief, regional conferences and local congregations who have partnerships with organizations on the ground in affected areas, to respond immediately to those in need during sudden onset disaster. Hurricane Harvey Response
Hurricane Harvey has caused unprecedented and catastrophic flooding in southeastern and south central Texas. Its deadly winds and devastating floods have caused damage of historic proportions.
The Love Mercy Do Justice mission priority, in concert with the Midsouth Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church and Covenant World Relief are partnering to meet immediate needs along the Gulf Coast. Together, we can be a part of alleviating the pain and suffering of those affected through provision of food and temporary shelter, debris clean up, home repair, and other “felt needs”. Your generous giving will enable us to continue to respond as long-term recovery efforts are launched. We are committed to standing alongside Covenant churches and their partners on the ground in this time of urgent need.
Hurricane Irma Response
Hurricane Irma caused heavy flooding and wind damage across the state of Florida, resulting in extensive property damage and displacement for many families. The Love Mercy Do Justice mission priority and Covenant World Relief are partnering to meet immediate needs of those affected. We are committed to standing alongside partners on the ground to respond immediately to those in need in the aftermath of this extremely powerful and catastrophic disaster.
Water for Flint
Join us in this collaborative effort to aid children and families whose lives have been completely upended by the devastating water crisis in Flint. With your partnership we will deliver water and fruit, conduct blood-level tests, offer education on the situation, and help install filters. Items will be distributed at several locations in the city.
