New Brighton Global 6K hosted by Salem

UPDATE: Thank you, thank you, thank you, Salem Covenant Church for stepping up in a big way and participating in World Vision’s Global 6K for Water whether that was as a race participant, water station volunteer, race facilitator team member, or financial giver. Expectations were exceeded – over 200 people participated and over $23,000 was raised – which means more than 420 kids will receive access to clean water for life! Imagine how that is going to change their life and the life of their community.

Salem Covenant Church will be hosting the New Brighton Global 6K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 19 at 9:30 a.m. Six kilometers is the average distance a person in a developing country needs to walk daily to fetch water. This is a 1:1 fundraiser in that each Global 6K participant’s registration fee will be providing access to clean water to a child in Africa for their lifetime.

In preparation for the Global 6K, Salem is hosting a 5-week training session that will uniquely prepare participants physically, mentally, and spiritually for the race. This will be a family-friendly experience that will allow us to journey deeper into our understanding of poverty and the water crisis. The training sessions will be on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. beginning April 8–May 6 and is free of charge.
