Join us at our new day and time! We’ll gather before Sunday Nights at Salem for an evening of worship designed for families affected by disabilities! Our worship space will be set up with flexible seating and sensory accommodations, with additional quiet spaces available in the building. We will sing and dance along with music provided by Mark and Lisa Flora and listen to a short message. Join us and bring your friends. All are welcome as we worship in community!

Come enjoy an evening of fellowship and pickleball! All skill levels are welcome. Invite your friends to join in the fun! No experience needed. Equipment provided but bring your own paddles if you desire. The October 4 and 25 sessions are open to Grade 6+ accompanied by an adult.

Join us for laughter and fellowship as we relax and enjoy life together and play strategy, party, and classic games galore. Bring your favorite game or try something new. Come on your own or bring your friends for a much-needed evening of fellowship away from the busyness of the week. Make space for fun in a laid-back environment (or, for the highly competitive, show us your skills!) Bring a snack to share if you wish. All ages are welcome. No registration required.

Fall means tailgating with friends, playing games, and eating together. It also means watching the Vikings with people you enjoy. Join us as we tailgate Sunday Nights at Salem by watching the Vikings on the big screen. Bring your favorite outdoor chairs. Pack your famous football dip or halftime snack. Tell your football friends to come and join us. The watch party will be in the Fellowship Hall and lawn games and footballs will be outside.

Take time with your family (kids, parents, older folks, teens, young adults, everyone!) and join your church friends to play games. We will have different screens connected to video game consoles playing a range of games—Mario Kart, Smash Bros, The Show, Mario Party, etc.

Led by Salem’s Salt & Light ministry students, we will put our faith into action with an on-site service night designed to bless our community. Come serve with us and also enjoy fellowship time around a fire making s’mores!

Mama Mel (Melanie Davis), turns cookies into artwork! Join us as we learn her icing techniques and take home some fun and yummy treats. If you have ever wanted to learn how to use royal icing,
this is the place to start! Cost is $12 per person (adults and youth Grade 6+ accompanied by an adult). Registration is required: space is limited.

This fall, Salem will host an early screening of the season 6 premiere of The Chosen, a biblically based television series that tells the story of Jesus and his disciples. Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome. The series is PG rated, and parental caution is recommended. Watch for more details!

We can often think about civil rights as something that happened out there and years ago: the March on Washington, Selma’s Edmund Pettus bridge, lunch counter sit-ins across the segregated South. But of course the Twin Cities has a robust history of racial tension and struggles for justice, starting from the very beginning and continuing today. Join the Love Mercy, Do Justice ministry team for any (or all!) of these hour-long videos on Minnesota history and discussions about God’s heart for justice in our local community.

In today’s fast-paced society, it can be hard to slow down enough to feel deeply connected with God. In this 6-week class, learn the basics of slowing down through contemplative practices. Each 1-hour class provides a brief teaching, a 15-minute contemplative practice, and group discussion. Because every class outlines a unique practice, feel free to come to one class OR all six classes to grow deeper! All adults welcome. No sign-up necessary. Come as you are, as we together take gentle steps towards a deeper experience of God with us in the present moment.

Strong feelings about important subjects can make conversations difficult. What if our comments offend? A guided conversation is
a time-honored way for a group to open a productive dialogue: we bypass talking points to get at what we feel and think. We take time and space to express our deep emotions. We are not debating or trying to change minds. We want to identify what matters and say it aloud. The Adult Christian Formation Team is hosting two guided conversations over shared meals. Both conversations focus on our national midterm elections. Both conversations will help us hear what is on our minds and hearts.
