What happens during a service at Salem Covenant?

Whether you come to our traditional or contemporary service, you’ll experience worship through vibrant music, heartfelt prayer, and biblical preaching that speaks to our everyday lives. Through our welcoming environment, you’re invited to experience worshiping God and connecting with others at Salem at your own pace.

Where should I go during my first visit?

If you’re attending the traditional service, enter the main doors and head to your left toward the sanctuary.

If you’re attending the contemporary service, enter the main doors, go toward the back of the building, and turn right into the gymnasium. You can also access the gym through the entrance on the west side.

If you have questions about where to go, ask one of our greeters at the front door or someone at the Welcome Desk—they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction. If you arrive after the first service, a host will be available to answer questions and help you find your way.

What is the teaching like?

Sunday teaching will invite you into a deeper, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grounded in the truth of the Bible and the gift of God’s grace. You’ll hear messages that not only nurture your spiritual growth but also inspire you to extend God’s love and compassion out into the world.

What should I wear?

You’ll see a variety of dress at Salem Covenant—we invite you to dress to your comfort level.

I have questions about Salem and want to learn more—where should I go?

Visit our Welcome Center in the Narthex to learn more, get information about programs, or chat with a host who can connect you with all things Salem.

Do you have programs for my kids?

We have several opportunities for kids of all ages both between services and during our contemporary service.

  • Rooted Sunday School (age 2–5th grade): Meets during the Education Hour
  • Flourish Children’s Worship (age 2–2nd grade): Meets during the contemporary service. Children will be dismissed from the service after worship and before the sermon.

A staffed nursery for ages birth–2 years old is also available during both services and the Education Hour.

What safety policies do you have in place?

We require all volunteers in our children’s ministry to complete a background check and abuse awareness training, and all kids will be checked in and out of their classes using the KidCheck security system.

To use KidCheck:

  • Visit KidCheck’s website or download the KidCheck app on an iOS or Android device.
  • Create a free KidCheck account.
  • Add children/guardians to your account to determine who is allowed to pick up your child.
