CHILDREN AND FAMILY
Equipping families and teaching children to love and follow Jesus
Calling All Hands on Deck!
We have a great problem! Our children’s ministry is overflowing with kids! We need your help to keep us afloat.
We are looking for adults 18 years and older to join the team. We need volunteers in all areas of children’s ministry, including Sunday School, Awana, and Flourish. Specifically, we’re looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday School teachers and classroom support. For Awana on Wednesdays, we’re looking for small group leaders and subs.
You don’t need a theology degree or a ton of time to make a huge difference. Just a heart for kids! Sign up by August 30th!

Baptism & Dedication
Infant/Child Dedication
Child dedication is for parents who want the blessing of the Lord on their child, but believe that baptism should be reserved for those who make a conscious choice of confessing faith in Jesus.
In the service of dedication, the parents and congregation:Â
- Thank God for the gift of a child and pray for God’s blessing upon the child.
- Commit themselves to nurturing the child in the love and grace of God.Â
- Promise to, with God’s help, raise the child to know Jesus Christ as Savior, be baptized in His name, and follow Him as Lord.
Infant/Child Baptism
Baptism is offered for parents who believe that the sacrament is a visible sign of the grace of God claiming a child as His beloved and drawing the child to Himself long before the child can consider a confession of faith. The water sprinkled on the child signifies the washing away of sins, the life-giving gift of the Spirit, and the child’s consecration to God.Â
Together, the parents and congregation:Â Â
- Commit themselves to nurturing the child in the love and grace of God.
- Promise to, with God’s help, raise the child to know Jesus Christ as Savior, be baptized in His name, and follow Him as Lord.
See highlights from our 2025 submersion baptisms at Silver Lake. Following contemporary worship on August 16, all are invited to join us at Long Lake for an immersion baptism service. If you are interested in being baptized at this service, please call the church office at 651-633-9615.
Salem Preschool
Salem Preschool aims to help kids grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually as they prepare to enter kindergarten.Â
Thrive
Thrive Ministry exists to serve those with unique needs and disabilities in our church, helping them deepen their love for God.Â
VBS
Our 2026 VBS is a wrap! We loved welcoming all the kids this mid-June!
Thank you to all who volunteered, donated, participated, prayed, or otherwise contributed to last week’s Vacation Bible School! The halls of Salem were filled with worship, laughter, and learning as 153 students, 50 StepUp! youth, and many volunteers explored who Jesus really is, as he spoke in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Youth Pursuits
What an Incredible Summer!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our unforgettable Youth Pursuits Camps! Thanks to our amazing kids, families, and volunteers, this summer was filled with joy, connection, and faith!
From sports and creative arts like sewing to hands-on fun with animals, our campers leaned into what they love most while building meaningful friendships and growing closer to Christ at our YP camps. Our older students stepped up in a big way through StepUp!, taking on character-building responsibilities and growing into confident leaders.
We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this our best summer yet!
Stay Tuned: We’re putting the finishing touches on a special summer recap video about all our Youth Pursuits camps so you can relive all the best moments. Keep an eye out for it soon! In the meantime, enjoy these videos below!
