2025 Alaska Christian College Mission Trip
Highlights
Making a Difference in the Lives of Students
Nestled in the heart of Soldotna, on the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska Christian College (ACC) stands as a beacon of hope, growth, and transformation for students seeking a unique combination of spiritual formation, academic excellence, and community engagement. Founded in 2001, this college is more than just an educational institution; it is a vibrant community dedicated to nurturing faith, fostering personal growth, and equipping students to make a meaningful impact in their world.
Origins and Mission
Alaska Christian College was born out of a vision to provide accessible Christian higher education to Alaska’s diverse population, particularly Native Alaskan communities. The founders recognized the profound need for a place where students could explore the intersection of faith and learning in a supportive, culturally sensitive environment. ACC’s mission is to empower students spiritually, intellectually, and relationally, preparing them to serve with integrity and compassion both within Alaska and beyond.
The Mission of Alaska Christian College
Volunteers at Alaska Christian College serve because we believe in the power of education, the importance of faith, and the strength of community. Our work is not simply about tasks completed; it is about lives touched and stories rewritten.
Volunteers at ACC help improve the campus while working alongside the native Alaskan students. Over the years projects have included building a new dormitory and gymnasium, remodeling older housing, painting, replacing windows, running electrical wiring, plumbing, landscaping, sewing and many other tasks. While working together with the students we hear stories about growing up in the small, remote villages of Alaska. Some of the students come to ACC with emotional challenges from abuse and alcoholism which are common in the small villages. Fortunately, ACC has the New Hope counseling center on campus. The New Hope counseling staff work with the students and helps them heal and work through the pain they have grown up with. ACC becomes a safe harbor for them while learning new skills and helping them grow. Hearing the students’ stories and seeing them grow and thrive makes volunteering at ACC very rewarding. Thank you, Lord, for giving us the opportunity to work at ACC and help change student’s lives for the better.
